Fatih Muslim Dormitory
A dormitory in the heart of New York, offering university students a home in an Islamic environment.
There is a dormitory for university students in the building beside the mosque. Young men studying anywhere in New York live there — LIU Brooklyn, NYU, NYU Tandon, Pace, Baruch, The New School are all a subway ride away — in a house where the prayer is downstairs and the dining hall is shared.
The mosque’s imams come over for a short session each day — a small part of the evening, for the residents’ spiritual life. It is not a course and there is nothing to enroll in.

Who it is for
The $750 rate is what a resident pays once the scholarship is applied — rooms of this kind go for $2,000 to $2,500 a month in New York. There is a short interview to see whether a student qualifies.
